We are pleased to announce that three outstanding  Hill Country Wineries have been selected to participate in this year’s Wine Tasting Expo at the Balloons over Horseshoe Bay Resort Festival, April 14-16, 2017. This year’s wineries include:

Fall Creek Vineyards

Fall Creek Vineyards was established in 1975 by Texas businessman/rancher, Ed Auler and his wife, Susan. The vineyards are located eighty miles northwest of Austin in the Texas Hill Country where the sandy loam soil, warm days and cool breezes off Lake Buchanan provide an excellent microclimate for growing premium wine grapes.

Spicewood Vineyards

Beautifully nestled in the serene surroundings of the Texas Hill Country close to Austin and San Antonio you will find this unique family owned Vineyard. Founded in 1992, Spicewood Vineyards, produces the finest award winning wines. Wines that are known for their timeless appeal and unique flavor of the Texas Hill Country. Wines from Spicewood Vineyards are available not only at the vineyard but also in Texas stores and restaurants. The winery features a large indoor tasting room and outdoor pavilion. The large underground barrel room can accommodate 400 barrels.

Stone House Vineyards

Stone House Vineyards is perched on a high bluff overlooking Lake Travis. This 7-acre vineyard reaps benefits from moderating cool breezes blowing in off the water. The winery is constructed from massive limestone blocks, each weighing over 2000 pounds! The barrel room itself is temperature controlled at 58 degrees in order to maintain the quality maturation of barreled wine. The view and experience at Stone House is not to be missed.

Wedding Oak Winery

In July 2010, Mike McHenry and a group of friends met to talk about starting a new winery in Texas. With the Hill Country region emerging as one of the hottest new wine and tourist destinations in the US, and with Texas wineries continuing to grow at double-digit rates, the group decided to go forward with their vision to establish a destination winery in the heart of small town Texas . They chose the city of San Saba for the winery and retail tasting room, because of the city’s classic, early 20th century historical structures and the commitment of several renaissance pioneers.

Wedding Oak Winery opened on June 1, 2012.
